ATRI launches study focusing on ELDs

Study seeking more motor carriers for industry research

Posted October 26, 2018

The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) announced an initiative to collect and warehouse anonymized electronic logging device (ELD) data.

The trucking industry is approaching the one-year anniversary of the ELD mandate, December 18, 2017. ATRI said the study will address the issues that impact driver and carrier safety, operations, and productivity through the data available from ELDs.

Some trucking fleets already shared ELD data with ATRI for evaluation. The research organization is seeking additional motor carriers who are willing to provide anonymized ELD data.

Motor carriers can learn more about the study on the ATRI website. ATRI will schedule a November webinar to provide additional detail on requirements to participate in the clearinghouse.
