National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents set for April 21-25
April 18, 2025
This year’s National Stand-Down to Prevent Struck-by Incidents will take place April 21-25. The event seeks to increase awareness of struck-by incidents on work sites by reinforcing the importance of training and prevention.
According to the Center for Construction Research and Training (CPWR), struck-by incidents are the second leading cause of death among construction workers and the leading cause of nonfatal injuries in the construction industry.
“Create a Sphere of Safety” is the theme for this year’s event, which takes place in conjunction with National Work Zone Awareness Week. Two webinars will be held as part of the event:
- Technologies to Improve Work Zone Safety, hosted by CPWR, the American Road & Transportation Builders Association, and the National Occupational Research Agenda for Construction Sector Council’s Struck-by Work on Monday, April 21; and
- Work Zone Speed Safety Cameras, hosted by the National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse and the Federal Highway Administration on Wednesday, April 23.
