FMCSA to discuss data elements in crash reports

Agency meeting to coincide with CVSA event

Posted April 7, 2017

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is using the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) Workshop in Atlanta, GA, as a venue for its Post-Accident Reporting (PAR) Advisory Committee.

The PAR Advisory Committee has been mandated by Congress to review the data elements currently required in post-accident reports and make recommendations on improvements, including suggestions on capturing additional data. This was addressed in a committee meeting in December 2016.

During the upcoming meeting, the PAR Advisory Committee will provide suggestions to the FMCSA Administrator concerning the implementation of its earlier recommendations.

The PAR Advisory Committee meeting on April 24, 2017, is open to the public. For additional information, contact the Senior Policy Advisor at (202) 366-5221.
