Comment period extended on proposed HOS guidance

Agency seeks input on ‘personal conveyance’ and ‘ag exemption’

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is giving the public another 30 days to comment on new agency guidance concerning its hours-of-service regulations.

February 20, 2018, is the new deadline for submitting comments on:

  • Proposed guidance issued December 19, 2017, concerning the “off duty” use of a commercial motor vehicle for personal conveyance; and
  • Proposed guidance issued December 20, 2017, relating to the transportation of agricultural commodities.

Comments can be viewed or submitted on the Federal eRulemaking Portal under docket numbers FMCSA-2017-0108 (personal conveyance) and FMCSA-2017-0360 (agriculture).
