Workers are exposed to many different types of hazards at construction sites. This course focuses on “struck-by” hazards and how you can avoid struck-by incidents. Based on the significant injury and fatality rates with these hazards, employers should pay particular attention to falls, caught-in or between hazards, struck-by hazards, and electrocution.
This training is designed to help learners recognize and avoid struck-by hazards in construction work.
After completing this training, learners will be able to:
- Describe struck-by hazards
- Identify the major types of struck-by hazards in construction
- Explain how to protect yourself from struck-by hazards
- Summarize employer requirements to protect workers from struck-by hazards
