A forklift is a powered, mechanical device that is used to move or lift loads. Although this seems like a simple task, forklifts can cause serious injury or death if they are misused or if the operator isn't properly trained on how to use the equipment safely.
This training is designed to help operators practice and then demonstrate proficiency inspecting a forklift in preparation for their shift in a safe way, protecting themselves and their coworkers from the potential hazards associated with their use.
After completing this training, learners will be able to:
- Recognize when forklift inspections are required
- Explain what to look for when performing a pre-use inspection

Training Scenario
The training begins with the learner choosing where to start. They can review each IDEA™ Anti-Harassment Action (Intervene, Direct, Elevate, and Approach) or start the scenarios. If the learner chooses to review the IDEA™ Actions, they will select four informational buttons. When they begin the scenarios, they will encounter two options, each presenting a different type of situation in the workplace.
In the scenarios, the learner will step into the role of a workplace bystander and explore different ways to respond. They will choose one of the IDEA™ Actions to guide their response. They’ll make decisions in real time, observe communication strategies, and see the impact of their choices. Each scenario is designed to build awareness, empathy, and readiness to act in a respectful and effective way.
To complete the course, the learner must complete at least one decision path in both scenarios.
