OSHA Assistant Secretary Doug Parker seeks worker input on the agency’s proposed heat illness prevention rule. During a September 5 webinar hosted by the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, Parker said, “Not only talking about the need for the rule, but how we can make the rule better would be really, really helpful from workers. Workers’ voices on these issues are critical.”
Parker provided examples of useful input, including:
- How workers cope with heat, and
- Examples of heat illness prevention successes.
Public comments can be made until December 30; search for Docket No. OSHA-2021-0009 at regulations.gov.
