OSHA finalizes PPE in construction rule

December 11, 2024

OSHA’s personal protective equipment (PPE) in construction final rule will be published in the Federal Register on December 12 and take effect January 13, 2025.

The rule aligns the language in OSHA’s construction PPE standard at 29 CFR 1926.95 with its standards for general industry and maritime. Employers must ensure all PPE is of safe design and construction for the work to be performed and is selected to ensure that it properly fits each affected employee.
