North American Occupational Safety and Health Week slated for May 5-11

Event raises awareness of workplace safety and health

Posted April 24, 2019

To raise awareness of workplace safety and health, the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) along with the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE), the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS), and other partners have teamed up to celebrate North American Occupational Safety and Health Week (NAOSH) May 5-11, 2019, in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

CSSE says the goal of NAOSH Week is to focus the attention of employers, employees, partners, and the public on the importance of preventing injury and illness in the workplace, at home, and in the community. Employers are encouraged to set up and publicize their own safety-themed events. Events can be posted on the NAOSH home page to spread the word.

Past activities have included fleet safety classes, ergonomic awareness events, distribution of catastrophe preparedness information, PPE donations, and more.
