OSHA Indicates 70% of Hand and Arm Injuries Are Preventable

Neenah, WI - It’s a good news/bad news situation when it comes to workplace hand injuries.

On one hand, OSHA found over 70% of hand and arm injuries could have been prevented with personal protective equipment such as safety gloves. However, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 70% of workers who experienced hand injuries in 2015 were not wearing gloves! Worse yet, the 30% of injured workers who wore gloves were wearing ones that were inadequate, damaged, or the wrong type for the hazards present.
