Millions of construction employees work on scaffolds frequently. Protecting yourself from a scaffold-related accident depends on the type of scaffold used, the construction and assembly of the scaffold, the use of guardrails and personal fall arrest systems, and your own understanding and implementation of safe work practices. Working with heavy equipment and building materials on the limited space of a scaffold is difficult.
This training is designed to help learners understand the types of scaffolds commonly used and help them to control the hazards associated with scaffolds.
After completing this training, learners will be able to:
- Recognize potential hazards associated with scaffolds
- Identify the common types of scaffolds used in construction
- Describe safe scaffold construction and access
- List important safety measures to follow when working on a scaffold
