Hazardous chemicals are commonly found in the workplace and are often used to make everyday items. About one in four workers in the U.S. work with these chemicals. Hazardous chemicals can be dangerous and cause accidents or injuries. We can avoid risk if we learn about these chemicals and how to handle them safely.
This training is designed to help learners understand OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard, the importance of container labels and Safety Data Sheets, and how to stay safe when using chemicals.
After completing this training, learners will be able to:
- Describe how the Hazard Communication Standard keeps you safe from the dangers of hazardous chemicals.
- Recognize different types of hazards related to chemicals.
- Explain how Safety Data Sheets can help you work safely with chemicals.
- Identify what information can be found on chemical container label.
