Given the sheer volume of records that motor carriers are expected to maintain to ensure their drivers are fully qualified, it’s no wonder that mistakes can happen. When they do, it can lead to claims by a lawyer or an auditor that an unqualified driver was behind the wheel of a regulated vehicle, which can have serious consequences for the driver and company. Your driver qualification (DQ) files and the Safety Management Controls you have in place to ensure your drivers are fully qualified at all times will be closely scrutinized during a DOT audit. Violations can result in fines, a lowered safety rating, and higher scores in the Driver Fitness BASIC. This webcast will help you prepare for, and even avoid, a DOT audit of your driver qualification records and practices.

Employee training is required by a number of regulations, but spending time and resources to provide training in non-mandatory topics can help better protect your employees and your company. Topics to be covered include: •Walking-Working Surfaces •Bloodborne pathogens (BBP) •Sexual Harassment •Bullying •Active Shooter •Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and Hours of Service •Drug & Alcohol programs You'll walk away from this event knowing who should receive training, when training should (or must) be provided, and why providing that training is important.

Carrier registration goes well beyond registering with the FMCSA and obtaining a USDOT number. Some for-hire carriers are also required to have authority. States can also require carriers - even private carriers - to obtain authority to engage in intrastate transportation. Getting all the right boxes checked can be overwhelming. During this webcast we'll discuss the different types of authority, who needs authority to operate, what's required to obtain authority, what else is required when a carrier is for-hire, and the consequences of not having the proper authorities in place. In addition, we'll take a look at some other registration programs tied to authority, namely Unified Carrier Registration (UCR), the Unified Registration System (URS), and hazardous material registrations. Join us for this informative and engaging webcast. Together, we’ll make sure that you stay on the straight and narrow.
