Overview
- Durable and strong for heavy-duty loads, yet still flexible to accommodate uneven loads and odd shaped cargo
- Lighter weight than steel, wood or other similar corner protection materials
- Constructed of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) for greater flexibility to bend, flex, and return to its original shape
- Use to protect cargo from being crushed by straps and strap webbing from abrasion
- More surface area than a cargo strap to spread the load over the length of the protector
- Helps meet 49 CFR § 393.104(f)(4) of the FMCSA federal rule that states: Edge protection must be used whenever a tiedown would be subject to abrasion or cutting at the point where it touches an article of cargo. The edge protection must resist abrasion, cutting and crushing.
