Self-Stick Vinyl

  • Displays printed legend with detachable arrow for proper directional flow marking
  • 4-mil flexible vinyl overlaminated with a 2-mil, UV-resistant polyester film withstands harsh environments
  • High-tack, acrylic adhesive back with peel-off liner
  • Adhere to clean, smooth pipe surface
  • Gloss surface
  • -20°F to 176°F service temperature range

Snap Tite™

  • Ideal for use on less-than-perfect pipe surfaces
  • Pre-coiled, heavy-gauge 20-mil rigid vinyl plastic is lightweight, yet durable to withstand tough industrial environments
  • Marker 'snaps' around to fit 360° over pipe
  • Fits over pipes with dirty, greasy, or rough surfaces
  • Easy to remove and reapply
  • Matte surface
  • -4°F to 158°F service temperature range (not recommended for hot pipes)

Color Identification

Colors are intended as a secondary means to identify the contents and characteristic hazards of the piping system. Below are the color guidelines designed to meet or exceed ASME (ANSI) recommendations.

Fire Quenching Fluids White On Red
Toxic And Corrosive Fluids Black On Orange
Flammable Fluids Black On Yellow
Combustible Fluids White On Brown
Potable, Cooling, Boiler Feed, And Other Water White On Green
Compressed Air White On Blue

Size & Letter Height

The outside diameter of the pipe (including insulation) determines the length of the pipe marker color field and the letter height.

Visibility & Location

Visibility and location of the pipe labels are very important. Make sure the pipe markers can be read from a distance.

Installation Recommendations:

  • Above or below center visual line of pipe
  • Frequent intervals on straight pipe runs (visible from any point along the length)
  • Close to valves
  • Near branches and Ts in piping
  • Any change in direction of piping
  • Near points before and after pipe going through walls, ceilings or floors; and at 25' to 50' intervals on long straight pipe runs
