TSCA correction process ends 4/26
March 11, 2022
EPA says it’s phasing out its old process for requesting corrections to the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Inventory. After April 26, companies may need to submit a premanufacture notice (PMN) or exemption notice just to request a change to the specific chemical identity of a substance listed on the Inventory.
The original TSCA Inventory was published in 1979, and the correction process started in 1980 to allow companies to request corrections of incorrectly reported chemicals. On and before April 26, 2022, EPA will accept correction requests that are complete and meet the 1980 guidelines. EPA explains that it was never its intent for the correction mechanism to last for decades. Learn more in the EPA notice that appeared in the February 25 Federal Register.
