OSHA releases 2023 injury and illness data

April 25, 2024

On April 18, OSHA released 2023 injury and illness data collected via its Improve Tracking of Workplace Injuries and Illnesses regulation.

The data include information from more than 375,000 establishments that submitted Form 300A, as well as individual injuries and illnesses for employers with 100 or more employees in select high-hazard industries. Partial data from more than 850,000 Form 300 and Form 301 records is also available for review.

OSHA provides public access to this data in an effort to identify unsafe conditions and workplace hazards that may lead to workplace injuries and illnesses. Employers armed with this information can:

  • Recognize hazards,
  • Identify ways to control or prevent hazards, and
  • Reduce occupational injuries and illnesses.

Summary data and detailed information about the collection process can be found at osha.gov.
