EEO-1 data reporting online portal opens October 31
September 5, 2023
On September 1, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced it will open the online reporting platform for employers to submit their 2022 EEO-1 data on October 31. The deadline for employers to file is December 5, 2023.
The EEOC says it will post additional information, like an instruction booklet, on their website within the next few weeks.
What should employers do?
All private sector employers with 100 or more employees, and federal contractors with 50 or more employees meeting certain criteria, are mandated to annually collect and submit demographic workforce data to the EEOC, including data by:
- Race/ethnicity,
- Sex, and
- Job categories.
There are certain exemptions. For example, local and state governments, as well as public schools are exempt.
In addition to fulfilling a government requirement, the data collected can be a helpful tool for employers looking to assess their company’s diversity efforts.
Key to remember: Employers subject to EEO-1 reporting must submit their 2022 data online to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) between October 31 through December 5, 2023.
