J. J. Keller's OSHA Construction Safety Handbook is an important part of a company's program to teach employees about construction work hazards they face every day. So what's construction work? The term "construction work" means work for construction, alteration, and/or repair, including painting and decorating. It should be noted that the Construction Safety Regulations at 29 CFR 1926 apply to every place of employment where a worker engages in construction work. That means an employer doesn't need to be a construction company to fall under these regulations. Even manufacturers can be caught under Part 1926 if their workers perform construction work.
