Mandatory New York Change - Effective August 20, 2022
The New York Department of Labor has made a mandatory change to the Deductions from Wages specialty poster to note that there is no exception to liability for the unauthorized failure to pay wages, benefits, or wage supplements. View our Recent Updates and Requirements report for details. The revised poster's anticipated ship date is December 23, 2022.

  • New York state law requires employers engaged in the sale or service of food or beverages to post a notice of Wage Deductions (Section 193 of the NYS Labor Law) and Tip Appropriation (Section 196-d of the NYS Labor Law)
  • Required posting in the state of New York for all food service industry employers
  • Notice must displayed in a prominent location at the workplace where employees will see it
