Posted October 21, 2015

The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) recently released a survey of 4,000 trucking industry stakeholders that ranked the Hours-of-Service (HOS) rules as its top industry concern for the third year in a row. ATRI said that concern over the uncertain future of the current suspension of the rules is what kept this issue at the highest level.

Other high-ranking issues include the following:

  • The Federal Motor Carrier Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA’s) Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA)
  • The growing truck driver shortage
  • Driver retention
  • The lack of safe truck parking

ATRI is a non–profit research organization whose focus is research relating to maintaining a safe, secure and efficient national transportation system.
