SHRM’s Diversity and Inclusion Conference kicks off October 25

Sessions will offer best practices and tools for workplace strategies

The Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) 2016 Diversity & Inclusion Conference & Exposition will take place October 25-27 in Austin, Texas. The event will provide participants with best practices and tools for creating and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies in the workplace.

SHRM says more than 500 participants are expected to attend its annual conference. HR experts and business leaders will present information at more than 30 sessions. SHRM is bringing experts in diversity and inclusion together for the three-day event.

Concurrent sessions include presentations such as: “Managing D&I: Religion and LGBTQ Issues in the Workplace”; “Who's Going to Sit in Your Seat? Advancing Women and Minorities in Your Workplace”; “Political Correctness in the Workplace”; and “Male Millennials: Allies or Obstacles in Gender Equality?”

Bettina Deynes, SHRM's vice president of HR and diversity, will give a State of Diversity presentation during the Opening General Session focusing on the role of senior management and the importance of an organization's mission statement in advancing success in diversity and inclusion.
