Reminder: CVSA inspection blitz set for June 6-8

2017 International Roadcheck to emphasize cargo securement

Posted May 31, 2017

Over a 72-hour period — beginning Tuesday, June 6, and ending Thursday, June 8 — the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) will hold its annual targeted enforcement program for commercial motor vehicles (CMVs). This year’s International Roadcheck is the association’s 30th annual event.

CVSA-certified CMV inspectors will primarily perform North American Standard Level I Inspections during the event. The procedures for a roadside inspection are the same as any other day of the year, but the likelihood of being stopped for the comprehensive driver and vehicle inspection increases during International Roadcheck.

CVSA uses the annual event to emphasize a specific category of violations. 2017 International Roadcheck will focus on cargo securement. Cargo securement is included in the vehicle portion of roadside inspections. The event allows enforcement a medium by which to educate drivers on the importance of cargo securement.
