CDC launches publication focused on protecting employee health

Resource provides guidance on emergency preparedness, food safety, flu prevention

Posted March 22, 2016

On March 19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Foundation launched the Business Pulse: 5 Ways CDC Protects the Health of Your Business publication. It provides employers with CDC guidance and resources in five key areas that can help protect employee health, including emergency preparedness, food safety, travelers’ health, global health security, and flu prevention.

Businesses can be faced with complex health challenges ranging from the threat of an influenza pandemic, global health threats like Zika virus, and natural disasters. Furthermore, the CDC says more than 48 million Americans are affected with foodborne illnesses each year, which can impact productivity and health care costs.

The March 2016 issue of Business Pulse highlights challenges faced by businesses, along with an interactive infographic that provides facts and links, advice from CDC experts, and online CDC resources.
