FMCSA hosts annual Analysis, Research, and Technology Forum

Discussions will include accidents involving pedestrians, URS, recent agency activity

On January 11, in conjunction with the 95th Annual Transportation Research Board (TRB) Meeting, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will host its annual Analysis, Research, and Technology Forum.

The forum will include a discussion of special topics, including:

  • An examination of large truck crash fatalities involving pedestrians and bicyclists,
  • Updates on the phased implementation of the Unified Registration System (URS), and
  • Presentations on other recent agency activities and research investigations.

Guest speakers will present findings from a recent National Academy of Sciences expert panel study on methodological approaches to understanding commercial driver fatigue and from independent studies pertaining to medical examinations for commercial driver’s license (CDL) holders and their relation to truck and bus safety.
