FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (April 16, 2014)
J. J. Keller Associates Thoreson, Goodrich receive prestigious CTP designation
Neenah, WI - Aric Thoreson and Jason Goodrich have joined the ranks of the nation’s leading transportation professionals. The two J. J. Keller associates were awarded Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) designation by the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) during its 2014 Annual Education Management Conference and Exhibition on April 13.
Thoreson, technology services implementation manager, and Goodrich, technology services product manager, work with J. J. Keller's Encompass®, the online tool that automates E-Logs, E-DVIRs, and driver and vehicle in-cab performance reporting via a mobile-based platform.
Gary Petty, NPTC President and CEO, said that CTP status is one of the most prestigious and widely-respected professional credentials in the truck and transportation industry.
“Successful graduates have passed rigorous experience qualification, training, and examination standards covering the core disciplines, best practices, skills and knowledge found in private fleet management operating at world-class levels,” Petty said. “CTPs are raising industry standards, and in turn, increasing the respect and prestige of the fleet and transportation profession.”
As part of the certification process, Thoreson and Goodrich attended a five-day intensive educational program focusing on five core disciplines: operations, finance, human resources, safety, and vehicle and equipment maintenance. The program included a four-hour exam with case study review and analysis.
Rustin Keller, J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc.® Executive Vice President and COO, said the CTP designation further cements Thoreson’s and Goodrich’s industry expertise.
“We’re extremely proud of Aric and Jason. Their CTP designation gives them an even deeper understanding of the challenges transportation professionals face,” Keller said. “This knowledge will enable them to enhance and create products that help J. J. Keller customers improve safety and compliance in more efficient and effective ways.”
Since the CTP designation was first introduced in 1993, more than 1,000 fleet and transportation professionals have earned the right to use the CTP credential. The CTP Class of 2014 is the largest in the program’s history, with 83 new CTPs being recognized. Amy Daley, technology services product manager, was J. J. Keller's first CTP. She was also named 2009 CTP Graduate of the Year – the top graduate in her class.
