The
Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act
of 2002 is intended to improve the ability of the United States to
prevent, prepare for, and respond to bioterrorism and other public health
emergencies.
These
responsibilities are delegated to federal agencies that are most appropriate
to handle the entitled provisions of the Act. Specifically, the Food and
Drug Administration is responsible for, and has issued, proposed regulations
regarding the topics outlined at right.
