CBP Offers online participation for Annual Trade Symposium

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is expanding participation to its annual trade symposium by offering a live webcast of the symposium events. It will allow participants to view and interactively participate in the trade symposium online.

Registration for webcasting will be held separately around mid-October. The cost will be $35. As an added feature, participants who pay to attend the trade symposium onsite or purchase the live webcast will also be provided with complimentary on-demand access via the Internet to the webcast for thirty days.

Registration for the onsite symposium was open on October 1. Onsite participants are requested to identify in the registration their top three preferred break-out sessions. These sessions will be scheduled according to demand. Some sessions may not be offered if there is insufficient interest. The breakout sessions are:

  • AD/CVD Functionality and responding to forms related to ACS Entry Summaries in the ACE Secure Data Portal
  • ACE Entry Summary, Post Summary Corrections and Beyond
  • ISA: Making the Grade for Self-Governance of Trade Compliance
  • CBP Business Resumption Planning
  • C-TPAT–Minimum Security Criteria Enhancements
  • Importer Security Filing/10+2
  • The Rulings Process Reviewed
  • Navigating Regulation by Multiple Agencies: How to Manage Interagency Cooperation

This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the CBP trade symposium. The general theme is A Decade of Progress through Partnership. “This symposium continues to be an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with our trade partners, share accomplishments, discuss new initiatives and further our common goals of trade security and facilitation,” said Acting Commissioner Ahern.

For more information on symposium events including a description of the breakout sessions, visit the CBP website or email tradeevents@dhs.gov.
