- Attended Appleton Business College for one year and received certificate in 1938.
- Employed at Kimberly-Clark Corporation from 1939 to 1950.
- Served in the military from 1942 to 1946. Entered as a Private and discharged as a Master Sergeant Major.
- Attended College of Advanced Traffic Extension Training Program at Appleton and Menasha from 1940 to 1949.
- Married Ethel D. Courtois on February 19, 1944.
- Assigned as instructor for Traffic Management and Interstate Commerce Commission Regulation from 1950 to 1964.
- Passed the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) bar exam in 1950.
- Lifetime member of the ICC and the Association for Transportation Law, Logistics, and Policy from 1950 forward.
- Employed at Kampo Transit, Inc. from 1950 to 1953.
- Established J. J. Keller & Associates on November 1, 1953 along with J. J. Keller Commerce Practice.
- Established Keller Development Corporation in 1955.
- Incorporated J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. in 1958.
- Served as a member of the Board of Directors of Associated Bank in Neenah, WI until age 66.
- Established the Keller Foundation, Ltd. in 1991 for general charitable purposes.
- Established the John J. & Ethel D. Keller Donor-Advised Fund at the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, Inc. in 1994.
- Lifetime member of the American Legion from 1946 to date.
- Lifetime member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks from 1946 to date.
- Inducted into the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame in October 2001.
- Jack and Ethel Keller receive the 2005 Walter L. Rugland Community Service Award, sponsored by Thrivent Financial, the Community Foundation, and the Appleton Post-Crescent.
- Appointed as Founder and Chairman Emeritus of J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. on July 1, 2006.
