2009 to add information about the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008
(GINA),
effective November 21, 2009. As a result of GINA, employers are
prohibited from basing employment decisions on an individual’s genetic information.

The state of Maryland has updated its Wage & Hour Fact Sheet notice with mandatory
changes. The state's minimum wage will increase from $6.55 to $7.25 per hour effective
July 24, 2009. The tipped employee wage rate will increase from $3.28 to $3.63 per hour
effective July 24, 2009.
