The state of Maine has updated its Minimum Wage and Regulation of Employment notices with mandatory changes. Minimum Wage notice: The state agency has made text changes regarding the exemption for counselors, juniors, and counselors-in-training in the Exempt From Minimum Wage and Overtime section of the notice (effective 5/11/09). The agency has also added text regarding discrimination in pay to the Equal Pay section of the notice (effective 9/12/09). The expired minimum wage rate of $7.25 per hour effective 10/1/09 has been removed. The new minimum wage rate of $7.50 per hour is effective 10/1/09 and was included on the previous version notice.
